THE GENDER AGENDA: GAINING MOMENTUM

Over time and distance, the equal rights of women have progressed. We celebrate the achievements of women while remaining vigilant and tenacious for further sustainable change. There is global momentum for championing women's equality.

Each year, International Women's Day is celebrated around the world on March 8. Thousands of events occur, not just on this day, but throughout the month of March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women.

MADISON EVENTS -- Join Us!!

Workshop*: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
U.S. Bank Building Conference Room on the Capitol Square

  • Learn about key issues affecting violence against women (domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking)
  • Enhance your legislative advocacy skills

    Legislator Visits*: 3:00 to 4:15 pm

  • Appointments made for group meetings with your State Representative and State Senator

    Rally in the Rotunda: 4:30 to 5:15 pm

  • Help raise the collective community's voice to end violence against women

    2nd Annual International Women's Day Free Dinner: 5:30 pm
    Sponsored by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom

  • St. Mark's, 605 Spruce Street, Madison
  • Rally participants can get there in time for dessert and conversation
