Members of First Unitarian invite everyone to a
Candlelight March

Where there is darkness, may we bring light
Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 Candlelight March
Originating at First Unitarian Society (900 University Bay Dr.) & Culminating at the Capitol
Passing over the Pedestrian Bridge (at Campus Dr.) as well as Bascom Hill (at Park St.)
Departure from FUS planned for 7pm
See link below for Walking Route
Please bring your own candles and flashlights.
All positive signs welcome.
Dress warmly!

The tens of thousands of protesters who have demonstrated at the Capitol these last two weeks have been a testament to the fight for human rights and the unity of all of us as a human race. There is much to be celebrated in the cooperation and understanding exhibited. Civility in the face of opposition fosters hope, but even so, this feels like a time of turmoil and darkness. So we march in kindness and love and acceptance of all. We are here to bring the light.

Please join us, either in the parking lot of FUS or at any point along the way. And bring your friends, your union, or your congregation. If you cannot march with us, please light a candle and step out onto your front step and invite your neighbors into a conversation, wherever you may be (Madison, Milwaukee, Memphis, Montreal, or Mumbai).

Candlelight/Flashlight March Route ( 2.93 Miles).
