  Luciano Brunet is a long time Workers Party activist and a past
 member of the Municipal Government of Porto Alegre. Until 2001, he was
 the adjunct coordinator of the municipal government agency responsible
 for Porto Alegre’s world renowned “Participatory Budget.” He has also
 been involved in the planning of the World Social Forum in Porto
 Alegre and has participated in numerous international seminars on
 participatory governance and decentralization.
