“The USA PATRIOT ACT:
Threat or Protection”

A PUBLIC FORUM

Passed by Congress in October 2001, just weeks after the attacks of 9/11, the USA PATRIOT Act gives the federal government sweeping new powers of surveillance. Now, Attorney General Ashcroft wants to expand PATRIOT’s reach, and Congress is considering making the law permanent. Join us for an informative and important discussion of whether this law is a necessary protection against terrorism or an unacceptable attack on our civil liberties.
