On May 2, 2004, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, the Madison area Preserve Our Climate (POC) Coalition will be hosting the live theater play "What's Funny About Climate Change?" at the Wisconsin Union Theater, 800 Langdon St., Madison.

The play is designed to entertain, move and motivate its audiences with humor, while informing them about one of the most potentially serious issues of our time - global warming.

Human Nature is a three person drama troupe specializing in musical comedy that educates and informs audiences about the relationship between human culture and the natural world. The play's creators, David Simpson and Jane Lapiner, are from Petrolia, California. Daughter, Joyful also performs in the play.

Following the play, the cast, audience and members of the Preserve Our Climate Coalition will engage in a discussion of issues and inspirations raised by the performance.

The play will be preceded by a "resource fair", at which local contributors: the Willy St. Coop, Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition, the Sierra Club, and local partnering organizations: Doers Offering Emergency Relief Support (DOERS) and WORT radio will have displays, literature and giveaway items available.

Free admission to both the resource fair and the play is provided to encourage attendance from families and individuals representing all income levels (suggested age: 16 and older).

The event is sponsored by the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the UW-Madison.
