Tuesday -- Welcome the legislature back to the Capitol

Background: On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Wisconsin legislature returns to the Capitol, after a recess lasting more than two months. In its first five months, the legislature rolled back more than 50 years of collective bargaining rights, imposed draconian cuts on K-12/higher education, environmental protection, and vital social services like badger care, food share, and senior care, and rushed through tax cuts for some of the wealthiest corporations in Wisconsin. What will the next five months hold? An Arizona-style anti-immigrant bill, legislation to fast-track environmentally destructive mining projects, and a bill eliminating common-sense requirements for those who would build new nuclear plants in our state are all in the works.

Take Action: Join the "Welcome the legislature back to the Capitol" rally on the State St. steps of the Capitol from 6pm-8:30pm on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Rally organizers Wisconsin Wave say, "Join us in letting the legislature and those who fund them know that while they've been on vacation we've been getting ready for the next stage of the fight to take back our state!"
